Local Development Framework

Please help us to protect Stapleford’s heritage!

Our organisation has been established to conserve the historic and Green Belt heritage of the village of Stapleford, Cambridge.

Message from Michael Day:

Are you aware that the owners of four Green Belt sites in Stapleford have promoted their removal from the Green Belt and propose residential development as Objection Sites under the proposed Local Development Framework eventually to replace the Local Plan?

These sites were proposed by objectors to the land designation during the Submission stage consultation in January 2006. These sites and representations are not supported by South Cambs District Council.

The four sites are:

Land between 41 Gog Magog Way and Hill Farm (on the bend) - For the Council's latest view Click Here

A large area of land north of Mingle Lane and east of Hinton Way - For the Council's latest view Click Here

Land behind 34-60 Hinton Way (adjoining the above site) - For the Council's latest view Click Here

Bury Farm Residential Development for 38 dwellings - For the Council's latest view Click Here

The Plans can be viewed at Shelford Library or on the website www.scambs.gov.uk and follow the link to Local Development Framework and search Objection Sites.

There has been no publicity about these proposals or comment by the Parish Council.   Let's make sure our voice is heard.

For latest position on the LDF site specific policies and the Government Inspector's position Click Here. It seems that the Inspector is asking the Council to think again and give up more land for housing. So look out for developments on this website.
